Friday, November 11^th for Remembrance Day. Classes are on as usual on Saturday the 12^th.

Christmas holidays start after Saturday, Dec 17^th with classes starting up Monday, Jan 2nd, 2012.

RAD Ballet Exams . . . .

R.A.D. Children's Graded Exams (Primary 2 – Grade 8) are held in the spring usually in the month of April. Vocational Exams (Inter. Foundation – Advanced 2) are held usually in early March. All candidates are examined by a Graded or Vocational Examiner of the Royal Academy of Dance. In order to adequately prepare for these exams, students are strongly encouraged to attend all classes and avoid missing too many lessons, this is particularly important for once a week students. Please make sure that character shoes (lower heel for Grades 1-2) and character skirts have been purchased for your child (Just arrived - many skirts in smaller to longer sizes available in the office) A slip for ordering a book/cd set (Gr 1 & up) was sent out recently, please remember to hand in with payment of $10 by Nov 19 if you require a set as there will not be extra stock as the syllabus is undergoing changes in 2012 and we will not be able to use previous books.          

Showtime Costumes. . .

All students will be performing in the annual showcases held at the end of June - Sunday the 24^th at the Michael J. Fox Theatre in Burnaby.  A costume is required for each show routine with the average cost of about $45 to $65 per costume.  Measurements for all students and costume billing will be handed out soon and costume payments are due by Nov 30^th.  More information about Showtime 2012 will be given during the year in subsequent email newsletters.

Parking Reminders. . . .

Parking is available on the side streets and only after 3:30 pm Mon – Fri in the reserved spaces in the lot. Please do not park in these spots prior to 3:30 pm as these are reserved for the N.W. Home Learners, however these are available all day Saturday. Please remember that the spots marked BOSWELL are for Staff only, and that spots marked RED TIGER are reserved at all times for their staff. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

INTENSIVE PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM for male and female ballet dancers aged 12 - 19

Classes in Classical Ballet Tech, Pointe Tech, Pas de Deux workshops, Repertoire, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern and Pilates.  Students can customize their own 15 - 20 hrs a week program.
